Update for our Spring 2018 Season

Our Spring season is fast approaching so we would like to provide you with some updates.

 

As most of you know, we rarely have fundraisers in our club as we believe we all are already saturated with these through the schools and other sports programs.  However, like everyone else our costs have continued to rise—especially with regard with field maintenance and equipment repairs and maintenance—but Town Parks & Recreation stipends remain minimal.  In an attempt to keep up with these costs/needs and still avoid or at least minimize individual player or family fundraising, we have reached out to local businesses looking for sponsorship for our Club.

As a result, we are pleased to announce our new primary sponsor, TapOut Fitness, a new fitness facility located in the Walmart plaza on Queen Street.  As part of their sponsorship, you will see their logo on all of our uniforms and practice shirts.  We thank them for their support, and you may see more information about them later this season.

 

Last year, we held a “town hall” meeting and discussed all areas of the club, including finances.  We will not be doing that this Spring; however, that power point presentation is on our website, and the majority of the information is still relevant to this season.  We will be having individual team parents meetings at the beginning of the season where we will also share this type of information.

 

For the Travel League players: you should be receiving an email from your coach, if you haven't already, advising that they are your coach and that more information will be forthcoming.  We are still finalizing practices days/times for each team.  

 

* Uniforms - sometime this week you will receive a separate email from TeamSports, requesting that you order your uniform.  Please be sure to do so before the deadline.  Everyone will need to order the kit which includes

  2 game shirts, pair of shorts, 2 pair socks, and a NEW training t-shirt; ALL of those items are required.  

 

* Practice dress code - includes the New training t-shirt, and also black shorts and socks (the black shorts and socks may be purchased anywhere), this is required for all practices.

 

 

For the Small Stars and Academy Programs: depending on weather and field conditions, these programs will start mid-April, with Academy running on Monday / Wednesday and Small Stars on Fridays.  Exact times will be determined in the next week or so.

 

 

 

Lastly, we want to thank you for placing your players with the Southington Soccer Club.  We look forward to another fun and competitive season of development, growth, and good soccer.  As always, please contact us with any questions you may have.
